Alma Doll...

And here is my Alma doll so far....
She will get more yarn and fabric hair...
shoes...and might even gets some wings....
Making dolls is so much fun...but quite time consuming.....I have to do things in stages...then let it rest for a bit and come back and work on it some more....

Here are two new hooked doll bodies that I made last night..I put two possible face choices on top to give an idea of how they will look... thinking of doing faces in other ways......embroidered features, needle felting, painting on fabric, and hmmm...what else?

Hi, I have been lurking on your blog for a while and just love your rag rugs in all their forms (dolls, cusions etc. What type of material do you use for your small items. I always think of rag rugs to be quite big and chunky but your work is so small and fine.
Your new dolls are simply gorgous

Mary,

You are such a talent.
I love the doll....she is looking great and I can't wait to see it finished. The face is one of my hand carved stamps...I'd love to produce a line of my faces. I am soooo HAPPY you are putting it to use.

Thanks so much,

Alma
