I can't help it! I am soooo happy that Obama is our new President-elect! I had tears of joy watching the returns and the faces of those who have renewed hope for our country. I made a pumpkin pie to celebrate and Justin and I had a piece before dinner with whipped cream on top!
I spent the day making stuff for the show this weekend. I took my friend, Tara's advice and slowed down and made fun little things....stuffed fabric acorns, recycled wool felted hats, softies and a hooked heart....actually that's two days worth of stuff....the cool thing was that I made 6, count 'em, 6 hats out of one sweater! I used wool from some other sweaters for some of the parts and one hat is kid-sized, but I was amazed that I could get that many hats out of one fun flowery sweater! Now to do some more in different colors and hope to get in a few scarves, too! I plan to make some little acorn necklaces, like the heart ones, maybe for little Xmas gifts. I put one acorn on the fiber charm necklace and love the way it looks...see below!
MOre of these little guys! I made 5 softies out of one felted wool scarf!
Acorn charm on necklace.....and a bowl of about 40 velvety acorns!

The hats are adorable! I made felted acorns last year for Christmas. I gave a handfull to a friend, hung some on my tree. I think I'll make some more.
