Hooking with Yarn....

I just hooked these two little house charms to see how it would be to use all or mostly all yarn to hook with. It worked fine and was a fun exercise. The house on the left has a few wool strips but the one on the right is all hooked with yarn. I just grabbed the closest yarn basket and used whatever I had in there. It has handspun wool, silk sari yarn, single ply wool and cotton. In some places I used 2 strands to make it thick enough to stay in the burlap.
Below is a close-up of the house on the right.
And I took these amazing flower photos while waiting for my son at the school bus stop on top of the mountain.....Mother Nature certainly has fun with colors!

And for you fabric lovers....found a new fabric store and couldn't resist buying a few half yards with circles ....the Quilter's Studio in Newberry Park has lots of great fabric....even things from Australia that I hadn't seen before. Met Eileen, the owner and she told me about the great workshops that are coming up. They have a nice website and map if you are in the area...
