Playing possum...

One of my neighbors up here in the mountains does a lot of animal rescue work. She asked me to make a couple of possums for a friend who takes care of possums and was getting an award for her contributions to animal rescue work also. Here are the two critters that I hooked up for her-my first possums!
They both have pink tails but it is a little hard to see them in this photo.

After Artfest I had to jump right in and start working at our Plumbing-Hardware store 3 days a week. Due to the economy we had to let go of some employees and the boys and I need to take up the slack. I mostly work at the register due to my lack of plumbing expertise. It's a 50 minute drive each way but it is along the beautiful Pacific Ocean so I don't mind. But I do find I need a nap when I get home!

Hi Mary, Yes the economy is definitely changing the demands of our daily lives a lot. Things have been down-sized where I work, which makes my job twice as hard! Love the opossums...too cute! Love the little pink noses. I used to see them all the time in Texas.

Oh Mary,
Those opossums are just waaaaaay too cute!! You've captured their little faces perfectly and the little pink tails!
Sorry to hear this economy has taken it's toll! You always find the bright side of a situation as a true artist would!
Hugs and prayers!

Hi,
I read your blog alot! I love your creations.
I would love to learn your rug hooking. Do you do any online classes?
Can you advise me on where to get supplies to learn this?
The rug hooking kits I find are all yarn that is pulled thru. I like how yours is strips that are " punched" in. Looks more pleasing to the eye.
Would love to make stuffies for my grandbabies!
Thank you

Your opossums are darling and so 'true-to-life'. I don't think there is a critter living that you couldn't duplicate in punch!
