Colleen Darling and I are heading off to France and the Netherlands to take part in the wonderful world of French General's Chateau workshop. I was given the incredible opportunity to teach a fiber workshop in an 18th century chateau near Toulouse, France. But first we will spend a few days in Amsterdam and visit with one of our art buddies from our adventures last year. Hopefully Giova will be available for a little lunch and shopping while we are there. Then off to Toulouse to meet up with the lovely Meng women, Kaari, Molly and their mother Kick. We had so much fun in Oaxaca with them that this will be a fun reunion. We look forward to meeting all the adventurous women who come from all over the world to share a week of creating, dyeing and a bit of shopping!
These are some of the little fabric collages that we are calling "Souvenirs of France".
Inspired by Mandy Patullo...I made this piece from old vintage quilt pieces...
A work in progress....a collage of vintage laces, embroideries, and other odd pieces of fabric.
We may have time to make some fiber jewelry too...
this one is made from Liberty of London fabrics...
and some little necklaces from vintage fabric...
Some little house collages for everyone to embellish if they wish...
OH! And just before I left on my trip Syd and I had the pleasure of hosting an ART DAY at my home with sisters Carol and Mary Ann Moss, the famous creator of "Dispatch from LA" blogdom! What fun! I gave sweet Carol a rug hooking lesson and she took off and got hooking her bird right away. Mary Ann got into her sketch mode and then water colored her wonderful owl below. That hooked birdie flew home with her to join her rabbit. Super fun to have the Moss sisters in the house!
We all had fun visiting and inspiring each other and catching up on everyone's creative activities.
Syd got some painting done in her art journal after ice cream and cake. A fun way to end a busy week.
Back in about 2 weeks...until then have a creative sun filled June!
